Accomodation and Entertainment 2018
Brean Leisure Park is allocating a number of their holiday homes for the use of competitors, service crews and marshals.? All accommodation offered in the rally packages will be in holiday homes which will include hot & cold water, heating and electric. Occupants must however supply their own bedding, ie duvets/sleeping bags, pillows etc. Important Note: This Accommodation has been made available to the rally on the understanding that all occupants will be personally responsible for the cleanliness and any damage caused.

PRESS RELEASE No. 2 BREAN RALLY TEAMS ARE GO...
It's action all the way at this years Brean Stages Rally with the cars ready to roar away from the start at the Brean Leisure Park venue in Somerset. With the event hosting the opening rounds of 3 major regional championships competition for top honours is bound to be keenly contested over the 2 days of rallying in the park. The rally, which takes place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 January has received entries from all around the UK and is one of the South West's most popular motor sports events.
Seeded at 1 is last years winner, Aaron Newby with co-driver Andrew Leech in their award winning TEG Motorsport Subaru Impreza, the team are all the way down from Lancashire. Next up at number 2 is Brean favourites husband and wife team, Steve and Yvonne Furzeland in their formidable Subrau Impreza S12 World Rally Car, Steve and Yvonne from Plymouth have won this event three times in the past and are eager to get back to their winning ways after their defeat at last years event.
Starting at 3 is Bristol based Josh Payton with regular co-driver Marcus Mizen in their Mark2 Ford Escort. Josh finished just out of the top 10 last year after suffering some mechanical problems and is more than capable of taking on some of the more powerful cars.
Five times previous winners at Brean, Karl Broad with co-driver Roger Grant are competing again this year in their recently acquired Ford Fiesta. Seeded at 10 this will be the first outing for the pair in this car and are hoping for a trouble free run.

The rally actually gets under way for the competitors on Friday 26 January when the pre rally scrutineering comes to Weston-super-Mare. The rally cars will arrive at the Weston College's Automotive and Motorsport Technology Centre on the Locking Road from 1pm on Friday afternoon until approximately 6pm for a pre rally inspection by the events scrutineers. This facility will be open to the public who will get the opportunity to view the rally cars and meet the drivers.
Local drivers include, Stuart Bliss, driving a Honda Civic and brother Rick Bliss in a similar car. Pete Donnachie/Mark Carrow, Subaru Impreza, Dave Harris Ford Escort with son Jamie driving a Peugeot 205. Father and son team Dave and Jonathan Westlake in a Ford Focus and Simon Bretherton in a Citroen Saxo, Making a return to stage rallying after many years, is Alan Holly co driven by David Thorpe, the pair are in a Mitsubishi EVO.
One remarkable competitor is disabled rally driver Barry Pavey from Bridgwater, who drives his Ford Escort rally car with prosthetic lower limbs. Barry has been rally driving for a number of years and proves that competitive driving is yet another sport that is not beyond the reach of anyone. Barry is seeded at number 44 in this years rally.
Six special stages will be completed throughout Saturday with a further six stages on Sunday. The rally, held entirely within the grounds of Brean Leisure Park and is organised and promoted by locally based Club Rallysport West. Spectators are welcome into the park over both days and indoor and outdoor catering facilities will be available.
The organisers have ensured that spectators are looked after with 2 viewing areas, spectators are advised to bring suitable footwear. Another has a covered grandstand giving excellent viewing across the inner field stages. Brean is one of the very few venues in the South of the country where spectators can watch this exciting sport at close quarters. Spectators will be admitted to the park over both days of the rally with an admission charge of just £10, including a free programme. Accompanied children under 12 will be admitted free. Car parking £5. No dogs please,with the exception of guide dogs. Gates open on both days from 8.30am.
